NOVAS is a not for profit organisation and Approved Housing Body. We
work with single adults, couples and families who are homeless or at
risk of being homeless. We provide a range of support services and
accommodation. We have over * staff, and more
than * services in Limerick, Dublin, Clare,
Kerry, Cork and Tipperary including residential homeless services,
social housing and community based services for tenancy sustainment,
homelessness prevention, mental health and recovery.

NOVAS Mitchel Street is a 5 bed Low Threshold Supported Accommodation
in Thurles for males and females over *; who
are homeless. We provide */7 support. Hours
include early shifts, (7am to 3pm) late shifts (3pm to **Apply on the
website**pm) Sleepover shifts ( *pm to 7am),
Cover shifts (9am to 5pm), Shifts will include Bank holidays. As part
of the work, we complete domestic duties such as cooking and cleaning.
We are striving to prepare our clients for independent living and work
closely with our partners to find long term suitable accommodation.
There is also an element of outreach support which we provide in the
community; this includes house visits, meal and transport provision.

NOVAS is a Trauma Informed practice organisation, and the principles
of collaboration, diversity, respect and trust are embedded in our way
of working together. Our services are provided through support of our
partners in local government through the Local Authorities, HSE, and
other donors and funders

DESIRABLE SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

* Level 5 Qualification in Social Care, or allied health care
profession
* Experience of working with homeless people or similar
* Commitment to low threshold and harm reduction approaches
* Excellent communication skills
* Ability to utilise IT systems effectively
